Morrisons shoppers can get 10p a litre off fuel – here’s how
The deal is available to customers who spend £50 in Morrisons stores until December 9
MORRISONS is giving motorists 10p off a litre of petrol and diesel from today and for the next few weeks to help shoppers afford the cost of Christmas, The Sun can reveal.
The deal is available to customers who spend £50 in Morrisons stores until December 9, meaning they'll save £5 every time they fill their car up if they have a typical 50litre car.
All you need to do to enjoy the offer is spend at least £50 in a Morrisons store, where you'll be given a voucher that allows you to pay the lower price until December 16.
You can then redeem this voucher at a Morrisons forecourt.
If you shop at Morrisons often, you can actually pick up a voucher for every £50 shop you do until December 9 with no maximum limit, meaning there are plenty of opportunities to buy cheaper fuel.
Ashley Myers, Morrisons' head of fuel, said: “With the festive season just round the corner, this is a welcome saving for the nation’s motorists to help them afford the cost of Christmas.”
As always, it is worth comparing petrol prices to nearby stations in advance to make sure you're not paying more than you have to - though the 10p off a litre may outweigh any difference.
All you need to know about the deal
- Spend £50 or more in a Morrisons store to receive the voucher - and then show it at the petrol filling station kiosk when paying for fuel to get the discount
- The deal's available to all UK residents above the age of 16
- Coupons can only be used once and are valid for one vehicle only - but you can pick up more than one voucher if you shop frequently at Morrisons
- Multiple coupons can't be used in the same transaction
- No discount will be given to customers who fill up more than 100 litres in one go
- The discount is also not valid in Texaco, BP and Esso outlets with Morrisons forecourts - find a list of these outlets
Ways to cut down on your fuel costs
HERE are some tips on how you can slash the cost of fuel
- Make your car more fuel-efficient. You can do this by keeping your tyres inflated, taking the roof rack off, emptying your car of clutter and turning off your air con when driving at lower speeds.
- Find the cheapest fuel prices. PetrolPrices.com and Confused.com allows you to search prices of UK petrol stations. All you need to do is enter in your postcode and tell it how far you want to travel (up to 20 miles).
- Drive more efficiently. Some ways to do this, include:
- Accelerate gradually without over-revving
- Always drive on the highest possible gear
- If you can, allow your car to slow down naturally as your brake is a money burner
- Re-starting your car is expensive, if you can keep moving
