Aldi and Lidl's price slash today comes days after Tesco cut prices of key ingredients including sprouts and parsnips to 29p to match prices at the budget supermarkets.

Six vegetables are now priced at 28p each at Aldi and Lidl as part of its regular cut-price "super six" deal.

They are: 500g of sprouts, 1kg of carrots, 500g of parsnips, red or white cabbage, a whole swede, and 2.5kg of potatoes.

It's the cheapest price for those ingredients of any major supermarket for the same approximate weights, according to our analysis.
