Poundland launches “reusable” Valentine’s Day card for last-minute lovers
The £1 card simply says; "Please tick box for appropriate occasion" and lists eight boxes that shoppers can select
LAST-MINUTE Romeo's looking to save some cash may want to snap up Poundland's quirky Valentine's Day card that they can then use again... and again.
The £1 card simply says; "Please tick box for appropriate occasion" and lists eight boxes that shoppers can select.
From Easter to Christmas to Good Luck - there's something for everyone and there's even an "Other" box if a celebration comes up that's not listed.
So if you're feeling cheeky, give it to a loved-one tomorrow with the Valentine's Day box selected, and then ask for - or sneakily take - the card back so you can tick the next box later in the year.
Shoppers in the Facebook Group where the card was posted joked that they'll tick the box using a pencil so that they can later rub it out and re-gift.
One user called Alison quipped: "Use pencil then rub it out and reuse", while Amaka said: "Should've used pencil so you can use again".
Another commenter on the group called Agnes hailed the card as being environmentally friendly, and suggested ticking all the boxes so you can be done with cards for the rest of the year.
"Maybe you can tick it all... and all done with one card... environmental friendly," she wrote.
Poundland says the card, which launched last June, is available in 700 of its 850 stores. Use its to find your nearest.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “Everyone should pull Poundland’s emergency card. Designed for every celebration – even Valentine's – means you’ve got all your bases covered!”

But environmentalists weren't so keen on Poundland’s "gift of nothing" Valentine’s Day present blasting it for "pointless" packaging waste.
Other gifts in the discount retailer's Valentine's Day range include £1 engagement rings, teddy bears and chocolates.
And if you're flying solo this Valentine's you could spice up your evening with Poundland's new £5 Bonkin' Bunny vibrator.
