THE Premier League season is back next month and sport fans will no doubt want to know the cheapest way to watch all the games.

Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon have exclusive rights to certain matches so what team you support could determine which package is best for you.

Sky Sports will exclusively broadcast 128 live matches, while BT Sport has the rights to show 52.

Amazon Prime has broadcast permission for the Premier League for the first time this season and will show 20 live matches.

The new season starts on August 9 and runs until May 17 - that means ten months of matches that football lovers will not want to miss out on.

We asked to compare the different packages based on how many games each provider will be showing per team and to give us their opinion on which is the best value for money for fans.

Not all the televised matches have been allocated yet - Sky Sports and BT Sport have only scheduled matches until the end of October - so this information is based on the programme so far.

Manchester United playing in March this yearIf you support one of the Big Six Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham – then on the whole you'll be getting more matches on Sky Sports than you would BT Sport.

The cheapest way to watch Sky Sports just for the Premier League games is through the Now TV Football Season Ticket.

This costs £199 for the entire season but remember you won’t have access to BT Sport matches.

It’s worth noting that the usual monthly price for a Sky Sports pass on Now TV is £33.99 which over the ten-month period would usually cost customers £339.90.

So the Football Season Ticket deal saves you £140.90, or around 40 per cent of the usual price, and works out at £19.90 a month if you want it just for the Premier League season.

But set a reminder for May as the offer finishes at the end of the season and the rolling monthly price will go back up to £33.99 unless you cancel it.

This offer ends on August 26.

For the ten months you’ll be paying £79.90.

Customers on EE can currently get the cheapest BT Sport deal with the network provider offering three months free and then £5 a month for access to the BT Sport app.

You'll need to pay £10 for TV access and as this is a rolling contract you'll be able to cancel after the Premier League is finished.

So over the entire period, the minimum you could be spending is £35 which is less than Sky Sports access but for less matches.

We've asked EE to confirm how long the deal is running for.

For non-EE customers the cheapest way to sign up to BT Sport is through the BT Sport and broadband package at £39.00 a month.

It’s worth remembering this deal locks you into a 24-month contract so the price price adds up to £959.76 for this time.

As an extra incentive, there's a free tech giveaway where customers can get a free Samsung Galaxy Tab A or an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition running until 15 August.

uSwitch noted that Everton fans might want to think twice about signing up to BT just yet as they currently have no exclusive games being shown on BT Sport.

Bournemouth and Aston Villa supporters are in a similar position with no exclusive games on BT Sport.

This could change once the rest of the schedule is made available as the competition gets underway.

Arsenal and Liverpool have the most televised games with six each.

Chelsea fans will be disappointed to see that of all the big six, they have the fewest televised games in the opening two months of the season with four games.

Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Watford all currently have one game on TV showing on Sky Sports.

When we spoke to BT the provider said their subscription is value for money because in most cases it gives access to TV, mobile, tablet, games consoles, and smart TVs.

As well as this, customers also watch UEFA Champions League and the Heineken Champions Cup.

A BT spokesperson said: “Next season will be the biggest yet for BT Sport.

"Customers will have access to live and exclusive UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches and highlights, 52 Premier League games - ten extra Premier League games, all European and Premiership Rugby Union matches, more UFC fights than ever before, unmissable world title boxing, cricket, tennis, MotoGP and much more."

We've asked Sky Sports for a comment and we will update this article.

When we asked Virgin Media about what packages it provides they told The Sun its Bigger+Sports bundle is currently priced at just £65 per month and features Sky Sports and BT Sport channels in HD.

For this price you'll get broadband and landline but it's worth remembering you'll be signing up to a 12-month contract which over this entire period will cost £780.
