Tesco’s Christmas menu is here and it includes a pigs in blankets stuffing wreath
TESCO shoppers are bound to get all the festive feels - even in August - as The Sun takes a look at the supermarket’s new Christmas menu.
You’ll be spoilt for choice come December as treats from its seasonal dishes include a new pigs in blanket stuffing wreath.
It features pigs in blankets served on a British pork and Bramley apple stuffing ring and we think it could make an unusual but tasty centrepiece on your Christmas table.
The feast is part of Tesco's Finest range and comes with a sweet ruby port-infused cranberry compote in the centre, which is perfect for dipping.
And to get you in the spirit, we’ve rounded-up the rest of our favourite foods from the new menu so you can have a sneak peak of what is in store for the big day.
Tesco hasn’t released prices or nutritional value for all of its festive food yet but we’ve included this information where possible.
The supermarket also hasn’t provided exact release dates for all items either, so we recommend checking in store or online nearer the time.
Here’s what you can expect.
Finest passion fruit sponge sleigh
There’s a delicious looking Tesco Finest passion fruit sponge sleigh made with mousse topped with a fruity glaze.
Sitting apiece the sledge are chocolate reindeer, gold dusted sponge cubes and edible snowballs.
We couldn't find any other passionfruit tarts being sold online so this could be a win if you like fruity flavours.
Chicks in blankets
Chicks in blankets are basically pigs in blankets but they’re made with British chicken sausages instead of the traditional pork versions.
New for this year, the sausages are hand-wrapped with beechwood smoked streaky bacon.
We couldn’t find pigs in blankets made with chicken being sold elsewhere online at the major UK supermarkets.
You'll be able to snap these up in store and online from December.
Finest chorizo style pigs in blankets
A Spanish twist on the traditional snacks, these treats feature chorizo-style British pork sausages hand-wrapped in dry-cured, oak-smoked streaky bacon rashers.
They come with a dip made from smoked red peppers, paprika and garlic.
These are also new to the menu for Tesco but last year Co-op sold a similar product for £3 using pancetta instead of bacon.
You'll be able to get these in store and online from December.
Brussels sprouts bites
If you struggle with your sprouts at the dinner table then this could be a good option for you.
Another new one - and this one is suitable for vegetarians - the sprouts come wrapped in a light, crispy golden batter along with a cranberry dip.
We struggled to find battered sprouts when we looked online but you'll be able to get your mitts on these in store and online from December 9.
Finest Christmas tree chocolate pots - £8 (four pack)
Almost too good to eat, these are individual chocolate plant pots filled with black cherry compote, Belgian chocolate mousse and cookie crumbs.
Not only is the Christmas tree decoration on top edible but so are the plant pots.
This is also new to the range and we couldn’t see the other supermarkets currently selling chocolate pots.
Available in store and online from mid-December.
If these treats have well and truly put you in the mood for Christmas, then check out what Aldi is offering for the festive season.
Or if you’re looking for a discount you can grab now, Lidl has launched a massive £1 sale.
Parents can also snap up huge bargains at Mothercare as a sale of up to 85 per cent off goods is happening right now.
