Morrisons’ new sandwich range includes ham, egg & chips and chicken dinner
MORRISONS is launching a new range of British pub grub-inspired sandwiches - and it includes ham, egg and chips and chicken dinner.
Customers will also be able to get their hands on a Yorkshire pudding wrap as part of the new savoury selection.
The ham, egg and chips sarnie features roasted potato chips with hard boiled free-range eggs and thinly sliced ham on seeded white bread.
Topped with creamy mayonnaise, the sandwich is garnished with flame roasted chutney to add a tangy kick.
It also contains fewer calories than the traditional dish at 472 calories per pack.
A wilted cured ham, egg and chips at Wetherspoons sets you back 866 calories and costs £5.60.
What's included in the new Morrisons range
A NEW range of sandwiches and a wrap is available now at Morrisons.
Here's what it includes:
Ham, Egg and Chips Sandwich
Fig and Wensleydale Sandwich
The CLT - Carrot, Lettuce and Tomato Vegan Sandwich
Chicken Dinner Sandwich
Chicken Yorkshire Pudding Wrap
But you might be surprised to know the Morrisons sandwich does pack more calories than a McDonald’s cheeseburger, which has 313 calories.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a ham, eggs and chips sandwich in a major UK store.
Boots brought out its own version of the British classic in sarnie form in June 2018 for a limited time.
It had fewer calories than Morrisons’ offering at 390 calories, and came at a price of £2.75.
The new sandwiches from Morrisons are available now until November 4, in stores only, and are included as part of the grocer’s meal deal.
Customers can get a main – including the new offerings – snack and drink for £3.50.
There’s also a fig and Wensleydale sandwich and for non-meat eaters, a carrot lettuce and tomato vegan sarnie.
We’ve asked Morrisons to confirm how much each new sandwich costs individually and we will update this article when we know more.
