The deal sharing website posted a picture of a box of 50 Flake bars with each wrapper decorated with a dark green edge to represent the peppermint flavour.

Hot Deals UK told The Sun it has seen several posts confirming the sale of Cadbury Mint Flake in Scotland.

When The Sun put this to Cadbury it told us it "understands" the bars are being sold in Scotland but says it's not behind the launch, and sadly has no "immediate" plans to bring the chocs to the UK.

It's unclear where Scottish retailers have got hold of the minty versions from but we found at least two Australian websites, including Amazon, that were selling mint Flakes, although these are currently listed as sold out.

But that hasn’t stopped those with a sweet tooth from going wild at the prospect of a new minty chocolate.

A Cadbury spokeswoman said: “We’re always looking to add new tastes and flavours to delight our consumers, however we currently don’t have any immediate plans to launch Cadbury Mint Flake in the UK.”

No doubt chocolate lovers will be feeling nostalgic as the new treat echoes the Wispa Mint bar, which launched back in 1995 only to be discontinued in 2003.

Then there was the much-loved Snowflake, featuring a normal Flake bar but surrounded by smooth white chocolate, that was around from 2000 to 2008.
