McDonald’s is ditching its posh Signature Collection burgers off its menu next month

MCDONALD’S has confirmed the end of its Signature Collection of burgers and fast food fans don’t have long left to tuck into one.

The posh range of burgers will no longer be sold in restaurants from September 24.

This means there’s less than four weeks left for hungry customers to get their hands on The Classic, The BBQ and The Spicy.

Confirming the news to The Sun, McDonald’s said signs will be appearing in restaurants over the coming weeks with a “last chance to buy” message.

The Signature Collection launched in the UK in 2015 as a premium range of burgers and contains three different flavours.

There’s The Classic, which is packed with bacon, cheddar cheese, mustard mayo, ketchup, lettuce, and red onion in a brioche-style bun.

The BBQ contains the same ingredients but with coleslaw and a smoky sauce, while The Spicy has jalapeno slices, Pepper Jack cheese and hot mayo.

The burgers range from 635 to 782 calories each, with the average man needing no more than 2,500 calories a day, while for women it’s 2,000.

The price of each burger varies from restaurants but can cost anywhere between £4.89 and £5.19 individually, going up to between £6.79 and £7.09 for a large meal.

McDonald’s first announced they were scrapping the Signature Collection back in April as part of a plan to remove costlier items from its menu.

Instead, the fast food chain wants to focus on simpler and quickly-served burgers.

McDonald’s recently released the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese and for a limited time, sold a Grand Big Mac and the smaller Mac Jr.

But all might not be lost for fans of the Signature Collection as McDonald’s refused to rule out a potential return in the future.

A McDonald’s Spokesperson said: “We are sorry to disappoint fans of the range and might return in the future as part of a limited time food promotion.”

In more McDonald's news, the fast food chain has brought back Smarties and Malteser McFlurries permanently but has axed Dairy Milk and Crunchie flavours.

Meanwhile, McDonald's workers have revealed their thrifty secrets to bagging discounts and secret menu options.

The burger giant recently ditched plastic McFlurry lids but raised eyebrows by keeping the same spoons.
