AN ultra-rich sheikh has shelled out £25MILLION on two London flats so he can be within walking distance of Harrods.

Both properties which are refurbished and dressed to the highest standard, are located in grand period buildings just ten minutes away from each other on foot.

The first, which sold for £17million, boasts 6,000 sq ft and five bedrooms and is located on the corner of Cadogan Square.

It is where the Sheikh from Oman and his immediate family will live.

The second overlooks Hyde Park and has four bedrooms over 2,400 sq ft. The £8million property is intended for extended family, overnight guests and staff quarters.

Together the deal achieved more than £3,200 per square foot - the highest price secured for flats in period buildings in the area for more than two years.

Marylebone-based estate agent Rockstone, which deals exclusively in Belgravia and Knightsbridge, handled the sale.
