Our local pub fined us £85 for parking as we enjoyed our pints… it’s a total con
DRINKERS have been fined £85 for parking while they enjoyed pints at their local pub - now they're saying it's a con.
The fuming punters have spoken out in rage against the eye-watering fees issued at The Queslett in Streetly near Birmingham.
A few of the pub-goers were slapped with the hefty sum for parking in the designated car park while visiting the boozer to eat or drink.
Some are so upset they left fuming Tripadvisor reviews online about the venue.
One diner, Alex Subway, left a comment on the restaurant review site saying: "Basically popped in for Sunday dinner - 10 days later a Parking Charge £85 - who charges people going to eat a meal to park in a ‘car park ‘ definitely a con going on here."
Luckily, the general manager of The Queslett jumped in to apologise.

But Alex isn't the only pub-goer to be caught out by the fine.
Last month a diner named Ivor lashed out at the fee in bitterness.
He said: "Do not visit this pub or it will cost you £85 to park, no clear signs as you enter car park and no need to punish local punters."
Once again the management team were quick to respond and resolve the situation.
Their reply read: "Please do call us on 0121 580 8123 where we will happily cancel your parking fine.
"We are unable to do this with no information on an online Tripadvisor review, however this can be rectified if you contact the pub directly.
"If you do pop in again, you can enter your registration into the machine located directly next to the front door, or the one next to the sign as you walk in which says 'please enter your registration'.
"However, when our lovely guests do unfortunately receive a fine, we do not hesitate to cancel it so please do get in touch."
