A SHOCKING video shows the moment a delivery driver mounts a pavement to beat traffic.
The video, uploaded by Instagram user @jameslangstone and features on the Inside Motors channel, is shot using the front and rear view of a car's dash cam.
The video begins with the camera's rear view which shows queuing traffic on a typical urban road.
Directly behind the car is a delivery van that instantly looks impatient at having to wait in the traffic.
Just a couple of seconds in the van's driver has had enough, pulls left and begins to mount the pavement.
Unbelievably, the van then speeds up as it bounces over the kerb and past the camera car.

The video then flicks to the forward view of the incident and the van can be seen driving even faster.
It speeds past the camera car and the three or four cars in front of it waiting in traffic.
Soon it becomes clear that the van is turning left once it has threaded between a wall, a lamp post and a road sign.
The van then bounces down the kerb again and rockets off around the corner, beating the traffic jam.

Not only is the maneuver illegal, it's also extremely dangerous.
Thankfully there were no pedestrians on the pavement or about to walk around the corner by the left turn.
But the comments on the video are surprising.

And jammijamie said: "Gotta do what ya gotta do."
@domtasile was also behind the driver's actions: "He/she definitely had a 14:30 parcel delivery. Dpd are the best delivery."
