I own a petrol station and I’m selling fuel for 25p a litre CHEAPER than other garages – these are my reasons why
A PETROL station is easing the cost of living squeeze by selling fuel for 25p less per litre than other garages.
Motorists are queuing for miles outside petrol station D.A Roberts Fuels Ltd in Whitchurch, Shrops., after hearing about their bargain prices.
Many Brits are choosing to drive less and less due to the skyrocketing price of fuel, but the independent garage's cut-price petrol is softening the blow on motorists' wallets.
As of today, the garage was selling a litre of unleaded petrol for 162.9p, with a litre of diesel costing 179.9p.
This is more than 25p per litre less than the current UK average, which sits around 188.8p for petrol and 196.9p for diesel, according to the RAC.
Dave Roberts, the garage's owner, slammed supermarkets for "reaping in the profit" in the cost of living crisis.

The petrol station owner said: "Here, we run how we want to run it and we take our margin out what we need and we try and help the locals, the cost of living and that jazz."
Despite his bargain prices, some customers have still driven off without paying due to the soaring cost of petrol across the UK.
Dave said he has had almost £1,000 of fuel stolen in the last month, according to the .
However, he has no plans to stop offering his low-priced petrol to help his customers.

"We obviously made a good deal with the oil company when we started our contract," he said.
"We are just about to change to another contract which is more local… and carry on giving our local people a good price.
"What enables us to keep that up mostly is, we sell a lot of fuel and we keep up-to-date with the daily price, so if the future price alters tomorrow, we can alter it that day after or whatever.
"That's what enables it to be done."
Dave's business has rebranded this week and now features a large Essar sign out front.
Dave keeps a close eye on the market to determine his costs, and says others should do the same as his popular prices often lead to queues down the street.

He claimed motorists often stay in the queues until he closes at midnight, and then "it's not long" before the lines start back up again when he opens at 6am.
Currently, mile-long queues are not uncommon for the few budget garages that offer cheap fuel, with the cost-of-living crisis continuing to squeeze Brits' bank accounts.
Another of the UK's cheapest petrol stations in Devon even had to deploy security guards to keep cars in check as motorists waited over an hour to fill up.
Just last month, shocking new research found that only one in ten petrol stations are charging a fair price for fuel.

The findings showed that small local forecourts like Dave Robert's garage are the ones giving drivers a better deal than the big hitters.
