Driver branded ‘unbelievable’ by police for obscuring view with a carpet – the comments all say the same thing
A DRIVER has been stopped by police and branded 'unbelievable' after being seen transporting a large carpet.
The driver of the blue Skoda Karoq was stopped as they were about to join the A38 near Plympton, Devon.
A picture was posted on the Devon and Cornwall Road Policing Team's Twitter feed, showing the carpet draped over the Skoda's roof.
The carpet is clearly obscuring the driver's view both forwards and backward, making them a danger to other road users.

The carpet is also secured using only a couple of small cords, which probably wouldn't be enough to keep it in place.
The A38 is a busy dual carriageway with a 70mph limit so it's lucky police managed to stop the Skoda early.

The Tweet from the police force reads: "Fortunately this vehicle was stopped before joining the A38 at Deep Lane in Plympton.
"The obstructed view as well as the bungee cords clearly wasn't a substantial method of securing the carpet.
"Driver issued a ticket #Unbelievable."
Despite the seriousness of the driver's actions, most people couldn't resist a joke in the comments under the Twitter post.

Another joked: "His name was MAT and he was on a ROLL so he just PILED it on the car."
Another: "Definitely pulling the rug from underneath us."
But some were more concerned, saying: "Some people shouldn't be driving. How the hell did they think that was safe."
