As the cost of living crisis kicks in, younger drivers have started trying numerous TikTok hacks to save money.
Car experts at have offered a list of TikTok car hacks that could cost drivers dearly.
One hack encourages drivers to ignore the Highway Code by not signalling property to overtake or avoid traffic.

Another set of videos suggests a way to avoid getting a parking ticket, but you put yourself at risk of a fine.

The hack suggests pretending you're broken down, but this is a risky tactic, as you could face court for fraudulent claims under the Fraud Act and even jail time.
Other trends promote adding LED strip lighting to your car to make it stand out on the road.
But these lights are only legal when the car is parked.
If you are caught using these lights while driving, you can expect a £200 fine if caught.
And a cheap hack that could cost drivers £100 is using maple syrup and charcoal toothpaste to blackout their windows.
