DRIVERS were left in stitches after a van parked on the pavement was caged in by scaffolders.
The white VW camper van in Brighton is going nowhere fast after being blocked by the council workers.
Scaffolders boxed in the 1985 vintage VW Type-3 van when they turned up to work on a block of council flats in Brighton this week.
Neighbours expected the workers to leave the driver with a way to remove the van but were stunned when they boxed it in.
Locals were divided over the bizarre prank.
One resident said: "Guess they're just going to have to stay in the pub until they sort it out."

A second said: "At least it won't get stolen."
While another added: "Terraced maisonnette. Close to local amenities. £1,150pcm. Bills paid separately."
Footage from Google Street View shows that the van had been parked outside the Haus on the Hill pub since October 2020 without being caged in.
There was also speculation that the site was private land, not pavement, and that the owner may have had the right to park there.
