Drivers in stitches after council plants very rude garden on roundabout – everyone is saying the same thing
COUNCIL bosses have been accused of a cock-up after they planted a tree and two bushes on a roundabout - in the shape of a giant penis.
The eye-catching display was planted in a tourist hotspot last week and features a small conifer in the middle and two smaller shrubs either side.
Giggling locals in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, spotted the x-rated arrangement as they drove through the popular resort.
Local garage owner Jeff Parkins said: "This sums this council up perfectly. It was just a roundabout before with not much on it.
"What a cock up. You would have thought someone would have realised whilst they were planting it."
Passerby Elaine Bailey, 56, said: "I didn't notice it at first. Then I saw someone else pointing at it and laughing their heads off.
"It's not exactly the best advert for Scarborough with tourists coming into the town centre."
Student Dan Collins, 21, who lives nearby, said: "My pals could not believe it when we first saw it walking home from college.
"My mate was in stitches but his girlfriend said he was just being rude and must have a dirty mind because she could not see it."
The rude roundabout has also been branded a traffic hazard by drivers who claim the giant manhood is blocking their view.

Margaret Johnson fumed: "This is already one of the worst roundabouts for seeing traffic with five roads coming onto it.
"Now there is no visibility at all. It’s ridiculous."
Melissa Jane Peterson added: "I am not going to be able to walk past there every day and not have a little giggle now."
The roundabout between Columbus Ravine and Prospect Road is right outside Nishat Spice Tandoori.
The restaurant's boss was only one of few who approved. He said: "I don’t see anything wrong with it. I think it looks lovely."
Scarborough Council has been contacted for comment.
