A rare custom Ford is going up for sale at auction and set to fetch an eye-watering price.
The 1940 V8 Endurance Rally Coupe Deluxe model was imported to the UK from New Mexico in 2014.
Specialist engineering company Royal Kustoms completed a rebuild of the model which cost a staggering £100,000.
Power comes from a 4.8-litre ‘Flathead’ V8 offering around 170bhp and excellent amounts of torque.
This particular Coupe Deluxe was due to be prepared for the 2020 endurance rallying season, but Covid prevented that from taking place.
The car has undergone shake-down runs totalling less than 3,000 miles, but has yet to be entered in competition.

With plans changing, the owner decided to sell the car and returned it to Royal Kustoms to complete a full service and check over.
Bonhams, who are handling the sale, said: “...it represents the opportunity to acquire an out-of-the-box endurance rally car ready to compete in the post Covid 2023 vintage and classic rally calendar.”
“And it goes about its business to a barking, thunderous, roaring soundtrack that will have people diving for cover at 200 yards.”
