Rare ‘immaculate’ Ford Sierra XR4i left in garage for 20 years is up for auction after £9,000 revamp
A RARE "immaculate" Ford Sierra left in a garage for 20 years is up for auction after a £9,000 revamp.
This 1984 Ford Sierra XR4I, with 75,821 miles on the clock, comes with its original manuals and handbooks.
This particular Ford Sierra was registered in May 1984 but was purchased by the vendor in 1992.
, which is currently handling the auction, claims that the Ford was repainted in Azure blue in 1993 and stills look incredible today with minor "spidering" under the paint in places.
The car had been used for seven years and had 6,000 miles on the clock when it was bought by its current owner.
The Sierra went from daily driver, to occasional fun car to garage ornament – kept MOT’d and in casual use until 2002, and then was tucked away in the family home's garage for the next 20 years.

Car and Classics explained: "Fast Fords are big news these days, especially when they have a fully known and documented history - and they don’t come with a much better pedigree than this one, which has been in the same ownership since 1991.
"Back when the owner bought it, the Sierra was still in production, and the rest of the car industry had finally caught up with its game-changing aerodynamic styling.
"41 years since its debut, it’s hard to imagine the scale of the Sierra's impact. Styled by French designer Patrick Le Quement to completely revolutionise the family car sector, it's slippery shape and rounded curves were like nothing we’d seen before."
It comes with a 2.8-litre Cologne V6 engine with Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical injection that could produce 150 horsepower.
