Rare top of the range 1972 Ford Capri with original air conditioning on sale for eye-watering amount
A RARE top-of-the-range 1972 Ford Capri with the original air conditioning is on sale for an eye-watering amount.
This Ford Capri 2600 GT XLR, with more than 47,000 miles on the clock, could be yours for £60,830.
Car and Classic, which are handling the sale, claims that the Ford has been extensively restored and is in "very good" condition.
It's powered by a 2600cc V6 engine with carburettors and a rare automatic gearbox.
The classic Capri also comes with white cream upholstery.
Car and Classic said: "We offer this beautiful and very special Ford Capri 2600 GT XLR from 1972 for sale. At the time, the XLR version was the most complete and luxurious Capri GT, with an impressive list of options.

"There is no more luxurious version of the Ford Capri than this model. The interior is in very good condition and is equipped with an RS sports steering wheel, a dashboard with wood inlay and six counters, a centre console with a clock, radio and luxurious upholstery with an armrest at the rear."
One of the most unique features of this car is the original factory air conditioning - which is very rare on a European car from the '70s.
To complete the sporty look, the current owner chose a gold-coloured paint with a characteristic black hood.
This comes after a rare Ford Sierra left in a garage for 20 years was up for auction after a £9,000 revamp.
