I took my car to Morrisons car wash and now it’s totally written off – I’m never shopping there again
A WOMAN who took her motor to a Morrisons car wash claims that it is now totally written off - vowing never to shop at the supermarket again.
Emma Eames, 45, from Burton in Staffordshire, said a large part of her Vauxhall Tigra's bumper was ripped off in the automatic car wash at her local Morrisons on June 9.
She claimed that the damage was so bad that her insurance company now wants to write the car off.
Emma was inside the car when the wheel cleaner allegedly "lifted it up and ripped the bumper in two".
She said: "I was so scared when I felt the car lifting off the ground. I told the Morrisons petrol station attendant.
"They said that a notice said Morrisons was not responsible for any damage caused. The staff member called the manager.

"The manager created an incident form and gave me gaffer tape to make it as safe for me to drive as he could.
"He passed me the masking tape and I did the bumper myself.
"I told him I had to take my mum to get her cancer treatment in Derby and my car was too dangerous to drive in the state it was in.
Emma added: "I've had no response from the customer service team or the insurance firm covering Morrisons. I've spent hours on the phone to them.

""After four days, I received an email from the Morrisons CEO’s colleague to say they’re looking into it and will be in touch.
Emma regularly takes her 62-year-old mum to cancer treatments at the Royal Derby Hospital - more than 10 miles away from Winshill.
She also takes her dog, Roxy, in the car almost every day.
The grandmother also uses the vehicle to visit her son and three grandchildren in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
Emma said: "I spoke to my insurance company, because I need a car that’s road safe."
"They've said they want to write the car off and don't hold out much hope Morrisons will accept responsibility.
"If my insurance has to write my car off, then I'll lose my excess and my no-claims discount.
"I'm very unhappy. I'll never shop with Morrisons again because of the way they've dealt with my situation and due to the fact that I’ve had to lose my car."
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “We are in touch with the customer directly whilst we review the claim."
