Experts at have told motorists to ditch the hoover when it comes to giving their car a clean.

Sam Sheehan, motoring editor at the used car marketplace, said: "Pet hair all over the carpet?

"Don’t bother with the vacuum cleaner because the results are not always consistent and don't often pick up pet hairs.

"Instead, use a pumice stone to scrape up all the hair and dispose of it in the bin.”
