But he warned that the culprits who took the 1977 Triumph stag had "picked the wrong one" as the motor was "completely unique".

Posting on Twitter he said: "To the p***k who stole our car last night - you picked the wrong one - it's completely unique and everyone is looking for it - spread the word."

Images he posted of his green convertible showed his cute dogs sitting in the backseat in a snap outside his home.

And his wife Sophie also took to social media to mourn the "horrible news".

She wrote that the "cherished" motor was the family's "pride and joy".

Jamie has previously had his motor stolen in October last year.

Speaking on his Heart FM breakfast radio show at the time, he said: "It was 2am when my doorbell rings and it's the police.

"They say: 'Mr Theakston your car has been stolen. It's just appeared on a tracker and it's about an hour away'."

Luckily for Jamie, it soon dawned on the DJ who the culprit was.

Theakston added: "I quickly realised that the woman had nicked the keys off the table in the hall-way."

Thankfully, cops tracked down his vehicle in what the star said was a "dramatic night".

Theakston has been married to his wife Sophie Siegel since 2007.

Most people will recognise Jamie as the Top of the Pops host between 1998-2003.

However he is probably best known for his radio career, which began when he was 23.

The BBC head of sport spotted his talent and hired him to present Greater London Radio's Saturday Sport Show.

Afterwards, he presented numerous shows for Radio 5 Live until he joined Radio 1 in 1999 to present the Sunday Lunch show.

He left Radio 1 in 2002 to pursue an acting career, which included Agatha Christie's Marple and Little Britain.

In 2005, Theakston went back to radio presenting and joined Heart 106.2 on Heart Breakfast with Harriet Scott.

He now presents the breakfast show with Amanda Holden, who replaced Spice Girl Emma Bunton in 2018.
