Major brand releases its first EV – but ditches key feature
A MAJOR brand has released its first EV - but has ditched a key feature.
Japanese car maker Infiniti will launch the Vision Qe electric sedan next year.
It has released a "concept" showing what the the "sleek" EV might look like.
The Vision Qe will have a chassis that flows in a curving line over the fenders from the hood to the rear.
The EV will also have the classic Infiniti "double arch" motif - with a crucial twist.
Infiniti has ditched its traditional grille insert in favour of ultra-slim headlights spanning the whole front bumper in a "digital piano key" design.

The bumper has an illuminated Infiniti logo and a jutting "lower chin" outlined with LEDs.
But little is known about the EV's horsepower, battery capacity, range or price tag.
Infiniti said that the Vision Qe sedan will be a "performance" car with an "engaging all-electric drive", reports.
The car maker also plans to release an electric SUV and two petrol models next year.
