THE old car of the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, is up for sale along with other memorabilia.

The flashy white 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V is set to go under the hammer for a whopping price.

The vehicle was purchased by the star and gifted to his fiancée, Ginger Alden.

The vintage motor, which boasts a top speed of 116mph, has been fully restored.

It previously appeared at the Elvis Presley Museum, in Memphis, Tennessee, US.

It has an all-steel roof, full-grain white leather interior with red dashboard and carpeting.

Inside, there is a luxury Cartier clock, automatic climate control, cruise control, twin comfort lounge seats, and a high-gloss woodgrain insert interior.

It is set to sell for £243,000 at Julien's Auctions, in Los Angeles, California, which ends November 18.

Elvis purchased the vehicle from Star Lincoln Mercury Sales in Glendale, California, for £10,986.

It is the 775th Continental produced out of a total of 80,000.

Restoration work includes a new custom-built exhaust, a new windshield, new tires, complete bodywork and paint job and a new brake system.

The pricey motor comes with images of previous ownership documents showing that the vehicle was in Ginger Alden's name in 1977.

It also comes with a copy of Ginger Alden's memoir, Elvis & Ginger – where she discusses the car in detail – and a copy of a Letter of Authenticity from Jo Alden.

A red racing jacket, screen-worn by Elvis Presley as "Steve Grayson" in the musical, Speedway is also up for sale.

The garment features two white horizontal stripes on one side and a single front pocket.

It is expected to rake in £32,553 .

Other notable items from the 1950’s icon include a 14k gold-filled Lord Elgin watch.

The Jailhouse Rock singer was famously seen wearing different versions of the watch throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

Bizarre items belonging to Elvis are also up for auction with hefty price tags.

A Phillips 66 gas credit card “issued to Elvis A. Presley” is set to rake in £5,693.

The plastic card has a Phillips 66 logo at the top left and associated logos on the back, along with a certificate of authentication.

An empty bottle of prescription sleeping pills is also set to sell for £5,693.

The label reads, "Elvis Presley: Take one capsule every bedtime as needed for sleep."

The bottle was prescribed by Dr. Scott on 9-14-74 from a Walgreens pharmacy at 4084 Hwy. 51, (Whitehaven) Memphis, Tennessee.

These are not the only items of Elvis' to be put up for sale recently.

The singer's private jet that was left to rust in a desert for 40 years sold earlier this year at £216,000.

The iconic plane went up for auction at the Mecum Kissimmee Collector Car auction in Florida on what would have been the rock and roll star's 88th birthday.

And Elvis' tiny childhood home has a new owner who has an incredible plan for the shack.

Jeffrey Marren, owner of Rockhurst Auctions - where the home was sold - explained it has been sold to a collector from California who intends to rebuild the property and furnish it with other Elvis memorabilia.

He said: “It's actually just been unassembled and it's in the process of being moved to its new location now, and then it'll be reassembled. It's quite a long term project for the winter."
