A FULLY legal car which can be driven by a solo 16-year-old without a driving licence is already available to buy.
The Citroen Ami buggy is strictly speaking a "light quadricycle", not a car.
This subtle difference means the motor can be driven by a 16-year-old with a moped licence.
The Ami has a top speed of just 27.9mph and a maximum range of 48 miles.
It comes with gold wheels, matt camo paintwork and metal bars in place of the doors.

"While a 16-year-old could conceivably drive it on a motorcycle licence there are limitations to factor in like the 28mph speed limit and left-hand drive layout.
"Be under no illusions, though. The Ami is about as basic as four-wheeled transport can get."
Motoring whizz Christopher Sharp predicted electric vehicles like the Ami will never replace normal cars.
Writing in the , Christopher said: "It is an expensive alternative to the train, the Tube, or the bus, someone’s third vehicle rather than their first.

"It won't be a car someone sells their SUV, hatchback, or estate car for.
"People will buy it because they have the spare income to afford it."
