Brit drivers could be issued heavy fine abroad this winter due to little-known rule
BRIT DRIVERS heading to Spain this winter have been warned to follow a little-known driving law or risk a hefty fine.
Motorists could be slapped with penalties of up to €200 - which is about £172 - for breaking road rules in the European country, leaving tourists caught out.
Unlike in the UK, motorists could face fines for driving with tinted or coloured rear windows without official authorisation.
Motorists could also be hit with the same charge if their windscreen or windows are damaged, or if stickers are placed on the windscreen or windows.
A slightly lower 80€ fee, with is about £68, can be issued if windscreen wipers are found to be in bad condition.
Motoring experts at the AA have urged Brits driving abroad for some winter sun will need to follow the rules - or risk being penalised by police officers.

This comes after drivers have been given a stern warning over driving in fancy Christmas wear acrocss the UK this festive period.
Those caught wearing fancy shoes or new pricey frocks could be slapped with a whopping £5,000 fine and get points added to their licence.
