Mercedes announces popular EV set for facelift in 2024 with range increased & price slashed by thousands
MERCEDES has announced that a popular model is set to receive a facelift in 2024, while having its price slashed by thousands.
The seven-seater EV was only released a few years ago but will now undergo a refresh, including an increase in range.
Merc announced that the EQB will receive a new entry-level model, dubbed the 250+, as part of the redesign, which will raise the basic range to 321 miles.
That works out as an increase of around 70 miles on the existing version.
It will also boast the MBUX infotainment system, which debuted on the A-Class in 2018.
This brings a faster, more responsive computer, different driving modes and voice control.

There's even an "augmented reality" sat nav system that shows a live feed of the road ahead with directions digitally overlayed onto the tarmac.
All the new tech hasn't detracted at all from the power, though, as the EQB range can all get along at a fair clip.
The basic 250+ features a single electric motor putting out 188 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 8.9 seconds.
In the upgraded 350 4MATIC variant, this is upped to 288 horsepower, boosting the acceleration to a 6.2 second 0-60.

And both can charge at speeds up to 100kW, meaning filling up from 10% to 80% only takes half an hour.
Best of all, though, is the revised pricing structure, with the 250+ coming in at £52,800, a cut of around £2,500 from its predecessor.
Meanwhile the 350 4Matic starts at £55,060, with both versions featuring a number of trim options for extra cash.
It comes after experts warned that EV drivers could face an extra £500 in costs just to keep their cars on the road from next year.
