have revealed four brilliant ways car-owners can use white wine vinegar - - to clean away dirt and grime from their motor.

That includes removing a haze or film from their windscreen - usually brought on by a build-up of grime.

This can be solved by simply putting some white wine vinegar into a spray bottle and diluting it slightly with water - before it's sprayed onto the windscreen and wiped away, removing the haze completely.

White wine vinegar can also be used to clean a build-up of salt and grit from your motor's footwells.

Grit used on roads and footpaths can cause your car's carpet to become dirty.

But using a mixture of equal part water to white wine vinegar in a spray bottle and spraying it onto the affected fabric, before dabbing it with something soft like a tea towel can help to remove the stains.

Of course, it can also be used to de-frost an iced-over windscreen ahead of the early morning commute.

The experts advise pouring a mixture of three parts vinegar to one part water onto your windscreen and windows the night before your morning drive - and you should wake up with a frost-free car.

And finally, white wine vinegar is great for removing strong and unpleasant odours from inside your motor - all it takes it placing a small cup full of vinegar in your parked car (on a flat surface) overnight.

Then, remove the vinegar from your car and air out the vehicle by opening its windows and doors for a few minutes.

The vinegar should have successfully absorbed any odours.

This comes after drivers were left raving over a "magic" de-icing hack that saves them from scraping their frozen windscreen - but some question whether it wastes fuel.
