The video posted on TikTok has gained over 305,000 views and 13,000 likes.

In the clip, the proud new owner of Mercedes C 300 has showed how she upgraded her ride using a quick and simple hack.

The driver has decorated the steering wheel, the dash air vents and control tabs using a cheap kids' craft item.

To add a nice touch to the new ride, she has put adhesive gems on the interior of the car to make it bling.

From cup holders to door lock pins, the TikToker has not left any detail without attention.

The before and after clips show off the sparkly transformation from drab to fab.

The viewers were impressed with the results with many flooding to the comments.

One person wrote: "Ordering stuff for my new car right now."

Another added: "Love it!"

But some fans pointed out a potential health hazard the gems could pose.

One viewer warned: "you know i’ve heard with the blingy stuff on the steering wheel logo if the airbag ever deploys it can stab you."

Someone else added: "Stickers on the steering wheel is extremely dangerous!!! not trying to be a buzz kill."

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has even issued an alert, steering the consumers away from buying decorative emblems.

They wrote: "The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warns consumers about aftermarket steering wheel decals that could potentially cause significant injury or death.

"At least one driver suffered a serious injury that resulted in the loss of sight in one eye, when an aftermarket emblem adorned with rhinestones became dislodged from the steering wheel in a crash and hit the driver in the face."

So if you want to feel like a royalty, then go for the shiny upgrade - but make sure to avoid covering up areas like airbags.

Also, avoid this seemingly harmless accessory for your steering wheel as it can leave you slapped with 11 points on your licence.
