It is one of just 400 on the road

The Blackadder star’s motor only had 3,800 miles on the clock when its new owner drove it home from Silverstone auction.

Atkinson’s former prized khaki coloured vehicle is one of only 400 examples on the road.

Nick Whale, chairman of Iconic Auctioneers, said: “Rowan Atkinson is a well known petrol head and Land Rover enthusiast.

“This vehicle has been cherished and lightly used as part of his personal collection.”

Land Rover launched the Defender Celebration Series in 2015 to mark the end of the off-roader’s 67-year production run.

The series included three stylish versions of the classic Defender: Heritage, Adventure, and Autobiography.

Inspired by early Land Rovers, the Heritage Edition was limited to just 400 examples.

Each model features a Grasmere Green body, an Alaskan White roof, a Heritage-style grill, headlamp surrounds, and heavy-duty steel wheels.

The seats are covered with almond upholstery and crested with the Heritage logo.

Other highlights include a perforated leather steering wheel and gear lever, as well as aluminium trim for the air vents, door handles, and door locks.

The car enthusiast’s luxurious fleet of motors are estimated to be worth over £12million.

And they are a far cry from the Mini Cooper he zipped back and forth in while playing the ever-popular Mr Bean.

The British actor recently showed off his jaw-dropping car collection including a £9.9million McLaren F1 and a £400,000 Rolls Royce.

And Atkinson made a huge profit after he sold his classic Lancia at an auction for just under £88,000.
