‘It’s crazy how much cars depreciate,’ cries expert urging drivers to pick up five luxury motors that dropped in price

A MOTOR expert has urged car-hunters to snag a bargain as a selection of luxury motors have dropped in price.

The car-nut listed five whips that are "almost brand new" and can be driven home for far less than usual.

Motor expert posted the video on Youtube and detailed each car's price drop - as well as why he thinks they're worth picking up.

He said: "It is crazy how much new cars depreciate, today I'm going to talk you through five luxury cars that were all available in 2023 and are now significantly cheaper."

First on the list is an Aston Martin DBX, which he said if bought last year - brand new - would have set you back £163,000.

He said: "That's just the base price with no additions, a year later you can find a fully specced model starting at around £150,000.

"It's the fastest and most powerful car on this list."

The luxury car has a 4 litre twin turbo V8 engine, 542 brake horsepower (BHP) and has 0-60 mph of just 3.9 seconds.

Next on the list is a Mercedes-Benz GLS, which would have cost "around £90,000" for the base model but can now be picked up for £77,000 only a year later.

He said: "The car comes with a 2.9 litre twin turbo engine, with a 325 brake horsepower (BHP) and hits 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds.

"Its plenty big enough and has enough space to look magically luxurious."

After that he showed off a Maserati Quattroporte Modena, which he said would have cost £90,000 in 2023, but now can be picked up for £20,000 less at just £70,000

He said: "For that price you're getting a 3 litre twin turbo V6 engine, equipped with a 423 brake horsepower (BHP) and a 0-60 mph of just 4.8 seconds.

He said: "In 2019 it was reported as one of the fastest depreciating cars in the world.

"It has heated rear seats, soft closed doors and a few other nice bits if you go for the comfort package."

Next up is a BMW I7 XDRIVE60, which he said he "wanted to get in the video" after sitting in the back of one recently.

The fully electric motor hits speeds of 60mph in 4.5 seconds, has a 536 brake horsepower (BHP) - and he said its very similar to the fuel-version of the motor.

He said: "What's good about this is that charging is pretty quick, about 30 minutes at a proper charging point, which for EV standards is not too bad.

"The most impressive part of this motor is the theatre mode, which turns the car into your own cinema."

The impressive car has a 31inch 8K touch-screen monitor which drops down from the roof.

Brand new, the motor would have cost £113,000, but the Youtuber showed examples of listings selling for a minimum price of £87,000.

THE MOST DEPRECIATED MOTOR 

Last on the list is an Audi A8, which he said has depreciated the most out of all five motors.

He said: "It's a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle with a 3 litre twin turbo-charged V6 engine, hits 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and comes equipped with a 455 brake horsepower."

He went on to say that the car would have cost £90,000, but in 2024 it can be bought for £63,000.

He said: "That means a depreciation of 30 percent in just one year, the most on this list."

He finished by saying the technology is a "bit outdated" now but the build quality is still "top tier".

Luckily, punters who want to cop this particular motor will get the most recent version of the car which "looks incredibly good."
