David James : "Hi Mike, If you ever feel like refurbishing a 2004 Astra SRI. I have a nice one."

James attached a photo of his blue Vauxhall that he wanted Brewer to take a look at.

He said that he intended to sell the "hidden gem" and there were a couple of things that needed fixing.

James said: "Drivers seat needs a bit of upholstery repair and the air conditioning needs fixing. Maybe a leak or at worst a new compressor. I’m sorting that out. The bodywork has a few little dents and scratches."

But Brewer responded saying "No thanks" with a prayer hands emoji.

The classic car expert did not expand on why he turned down the car, nor why he had replied to this offer out of the many he gets on social media.

One commenter, named 'The People', said Brewer was "brutal" with his decline.

Another commenter named Tom Lee said: "Oh Mike. I really feel for the guy now."

While a third commenter, Horus Works, said: "Ouch, brutal takedown by Mike. These went okay back in the day - suspension by Lotus, turbocharged, but like Mike I prefer a fast Ford."

Fans of the Vauxhall were out in force and said in the comments that the car was "nostalgic."

Another said: "The Astra G was a nice car, I had one for years. Solid and reliable. I really don't understand all of the Vauxhall hate."

Mike Brewer's Facebook hack

Mike Brewer has said he is "not going to talk to you" after he was inundated with messages from people trying to help him recover his Facebook account.

The presenter has been left fuming after his Facebook account was hacked.

The social media channel has been used by hackers to post pornographic content.

Now the motors expert has taken to X to express his annoyance with people bombarding him with messages offering to help recover his account.

He said some of the messages came from people called "Mr Hacker. " Speaking on X he said: "Unless you work for Facebook or Meta officially I ain't going to talk to you."
