MOTORING experts have revealed how a 35p household item sold in all major supermarkets can rid your car of scratches in moments.
The team at shared an easy DIY hack that could save you almost £100 each time you use it.
The experts recommended making use of a kitchen staple favoured by revered cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch.
White vinegar is available from every major supermarket and can be picked up for as little as 35p online.
Tim Alcock, spokesperson for LeaseCar UK, explained that small amounts can be a great way to cover up damage to your motor's bodywork.
He said: "Not all car scratches need to be fixed by professionals.

"They can be easily fixed with some simple DIY.
"[White vinegar] is a great way to disguise minor scratches."
All you have to do is apply a little bit of vinegar mixed with water to the scratch, leave it for a few minutes and then buff it off.
This should cover up the scratch and leave your paintwork good as new.

If you don't have any white vinegar, a little baking soda mixed with water can have a similar effect.
Tim also revealed some other cupboard staples that can be used in the same way.
He recommended things like nail varnish, shoe polish or spray paint to achieve just as perfect results.
However, his advice did come with a warning as he added: "Make sure to only use a small amount of products like nail varnish and vinegar, as they could cause damage to the paintwork if used too often or in large quantities.
"Use small amounts at a time and make sure to not leave it on the paint for too long before wiping or buffing it off.
"Buffing out scratches may take a few tries to remove them fully, but the end result will help save drivers a lot of money in the long run.”
