It is also one of the most powerful motors with an internal combustion engine to come out of Britain.

Built inside the renowned Mulliner coachbuilding division, the latest drop-top model is based on the luxurious Continental GT - and is closely related to Bacalar Barchetta, reports.

Sadly, the two-seater will be one of the last cars to feature Bentley's most potent 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, which is set to become obsolete this year.

The 12-cylinder engine is present in more than 105,000 examples, making it the most abundant engine in the modern era.

However, to make things exciting, the luxury car giant has tuned the already capable engine exclusively for Batur, which will now produce a whopping 740bhp along with 738lb-ft of peak torque output.

While Bentley has not yet revealed the full figures for the ultra-rare motor, it is expected to match its hard-top counterpart's performance which can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds - and hit a top speed of 209mph.

And just 16 units of Batur will ever come out of the Bentley production facility, making it one of the most exclusive motors in recent times.

And with unlimited customization options offered to the handful of customers, Bentley has already ensured that no two examples of the exhilarating machine will be alike.

It is said that only the buyers' imagination will limit the level of bespoke customisation of the motor.

Bentley has said customers will be allowed to choose the colour and material for "practically every surface".

With an "infinite" paint choice on offer, customers can also opt for hand-painted graphics, different metal finishes, custom bodywork trims and even an ombré-style effect for the front grille, reports.

Even the material for the convertible soft-top comes with loads of options to choose from - and the cockpit can be optionally decorated throughout with 3D-printed rose gold trim elements.

Lamborghini unveil new look after more than two decades

It's been previously reported that all future Bentleys are set to be electrified - except for the bespoke Mulliner cars.

Their first EV car will arrive in 2026 and will be powered using a plug-in-hybrid powertrain.

The famous brand is yet to confirm specific details about the new Mulliner model.

However, a preview image released by Bentley revealed the car will further progress with their new design.

The highly-anticipated motor features a familiar rear lighting setup, but will also have a sloping ducktail spoiler which suggests the car will be sportier than its predecessor.

Mulliner has been the key to Bentley's recent success with more than half of the brand's order book in 2023 comprised of the model.
