A STUNNING motor that Jeremy Clarkson once described as the "best-looking car money can buy" could be yours for just £6,000 second-hand.

Clarkson has long been a fan of the Alfa Romeo brand, and even once said: “You cannot be a true petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa."

That's particularly true about the Alfa Romeo Brera, which he gushed over on a 2006 episode of Top Gear.

The Italian set of wheels, which ran from 2005 to 2010, was the brain-child of much-heralded car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro - who also worked on other beautiful motors such as the Maserati Merak, Lotus Esprit, and even the iconic DMC Delorean.

The Brera was made available in two petrol modes, a 2.2-litre and a 3.2-litre V6 - capable of 256 bhp.

A diesel version was made, too.

But it's the motor's stunning looks that's the real selling point, along with its wonderful interior styling and even its decent luggage space.

Loosely considered a crossover between a hatchback and a coupe, the Brera's long bonnet and short, low back gave it an unusual and sporty image, coupled with the sleek triangular grille coupled with three round headlamps on each side.

On the Top Gear episode, Clarkson said: “We think it may very well be the best-looking car that money can buy."

And Richard Hammond added: "It's just gorgeous from every angle.”

The motoring guru even scoffed when a member of the audience suggested the Aston Martin Vanquish was better looking.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio – it’s beyond brilliant and the price is an absolute bargain

Even its name exudes class and style, with Brera being a district of Milan where art, history, and fashion meet.

Nowadays, the Brera can be picked up for a reasonable price, with a 3.2-litre JTS V6 example from 2009 .

If you're looking for something much newer, then Sun Motors' main man Rob Gill recently took the eye-catching Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio for a test drive - which he described as "beyond brilliant" with a price tag that's "an absolute bargain."

Alfa Romeo also made the news in bizarre fashion last month when they were forced to change the name of their newewst EV after it broke an obscure piece of legislation.
