A CAR expert has shared five depreciated luxury cars which look like "they cost an absolute fortune" but can be had for up to 90% off their original price.

You could walk away with a plush Lexus or Mercedes at a fraction of what they would have been listed for when new just a few years ago.

Jonny Brighton, who runs CarsWithJB, took his YouTube viewers through five of the best high-end motors that have seen the most significant depreciation.

Jonny said: "Luxury cars are often worth an absolute fortune.

"And they're often big and burly.

"Today I'm going to talk about five in particular that have depreciated a fair amount, are actually pretty quick and still offer insane levels of luxury."

As with many of the cars on the list, the LS 500H was its manufacturer's most expensive offering at the time of its release.

Topping Lexus' saloon range, it boasts the long sweeping bonnet and spacious interior twinned with surprising power that positions it as a rival to the Mercedes AMG line (more on those later).

Amazingly, it's the fifth generation version, the one still on sale today, that has found its way under Jonny's £50,000 budget limit despite being "ridiculously well equipped".

A rapid decline in demand for saloons and estates in recent years, with consumers increasingly turning to crossover SUVs, has seen a few of the latest offerings caught in a depreciation trap.

You'll look like a celeb getting back into it

The latest model will set you back almost £100,000 but take a look online and you can find a 2018 model, which is basically the same spec, for just £35,000.

Speaking of the increased love for 4x4s the Range Rover has the same 5.2 second 0-60mph time as the Lexus despite being almost twice the weight.

And like the LS, the P565 only hit the market in the last six years, meaning you can pick up fresh examples which look almost identical to the 2024 model at a significant discount.

In this case, a 2018 P565 can drop as low as £44,000 while the equivalent model today can touch close to £200,000.

Mercedes' AMG range has long been held among the top tiers of the luxury car market for its premium presentation coupled with sports car performance.

Jonny said: "Of all the cars on this list, the S63L AMG might be the best of all worlds.

"It has the best overall mix of luxury technology and performance.

"The spec list on these is absolutely insane.

"Park one of these in a car park, get your mate to sit in the driver's seat in a suit and you'll look like a celeb getting back into it."

Drivers can expect reclining rear seats with folding footrests, passenger TV screens and leather trim.

The 2024 S Class is on sale for £92,000 but go back to 2018 and prices have more than halved, dropping as low as £41,000.

You can pick up a Rolls Royce in 2024 for less than £40,000 - that is truly astonishing.

Just £39,000 will get you a seventh-generation Phantom.

When you consider that today's eighth-generation model tips the scales at over £400,000 that is a stunning bargain.

However, you will have to go a little bit older to access those prices, with 2004/5 examples at the best rates.

If you want something closer to the 2010s then it'll likely be in the region of £50,000 but that's still almost a tenth of what you would pay today.

Break out the bubbly because this Beemer technically sits in the limousine class.

Longer than the Merc with a little less speed, it was also the final V12 car BMW ever produced.

It is loaded with all the mod cons of the AMG and is actually a little cheaper.

2018 version can go as low as £35,000 and Jonny praised it for its style and reliability.
