Finally.

It starts at £30k. Not bad.

The regular Puma is £26k.

The 233-mile battery recharges to 80 per cent in 23 minutes. Decent.

The huge 523-litre “Gigabox” boot can swallow three golf bags standing upright.

Now, that is impressive.

Banana yellow is optional.

The battery-powered Puma looks much like a regular Puma.

Even the charging flap is where the fuel cap is on the petrol car.

Rare Ford described by Jeremy Clarkson as ‘devastatingly handsome’ on classic Top Gear episode available for bargain price

The obvious differences being the closed front grille and a bigger roof spoiler to help the car slice through the air – and no poo chute.

Also, one nerdy spot – P U M A is in white letters on the boot.

Ford design chief Murat Gueler gave The Sun a top-secret preview of Puma Gen-E ahead of its unveiling this week.

He said: “You can see it’s a Puma – but it’s a new Puma.

“The No1 reason for buying this car is design so we didn’t want to change the recipe too much.

“But at the same time we wanted to communicate the innovation and novelty of an electric car.

"We’ve done that by basically, for efficiency, closing off the grille area but maintaining the graphics of the original Puma through this black frame.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking baby Mustang Mach-E at the front?

‘WE DIDN'T WANT TO CHANGE THE RECIPE'

Gueler added: “For me, the real party trick is when you open the boot.

We have Megabox in Puma (456 litres) and now we have Gigabox (523 litres).

“This little car has more cargo load volume than a Mondeo estate and, in its class, it is unmatched.”

The dashboard is copy-and-paste the recently updated petrol Puma, with twin screens crowned by a soundbar.

The raised centre console is new and has lots of handy storage.

One last question for Gueler: Tell us you’re going to do a spicy ST version?

Gueler said: “That’s something I would love to talk about but I cannot.”

That’s a yes, then.
