One-off vintage Mercedes that survived TWO world wars hits the market – with wooden steering wheel and convertible roof
A RARE vintage Mercedes that has survived two world wars has hit the market but interested petrolheads will need a fair sum of cash to nab the motor.
The pre-war classic has been owned by the same family for nearly 50 years with the restored car up for grabs from £200,000.
Images of the classic Landaulet show the light yellow vehicle with hand-painted light green stripes.
As a 1910 Mercedes 35PS Landaulette, the car has two main seats at the front with another couple in the rear which are foldable.
The vehicle also boasts a folding roof, perfect for the warmer weather in the summer months.
A matching wooden interior: the steering wheel, dashboard and brass details offer a sepia tone adding to the nostalgic feel of the ride.

Forming part of a pre-war collection, the same family has kept hold of the incredible car for 49 years.
The classic fanatics held the rarity alongside a number of high-powered Mercedez-Benz cars and rare pre-war automobiles.
Restoring the car in the mid-70s, it has been estimated that the work would have cost around £30,000.
The one-of-a-kind Mercedes has been set to be auctioned very son in London.

On December12, Bonhams Cars will look to pass the vehicle on to the next lucky owner.
The online listing reads: "The Mercedes is finished in a striking light yellow with contrasting hand-painted light green stripes and has recently undergone recommissioning work in preparation for sale by pre-war experts Parkes Restorations.
"The history file contains a Daimler Chrysler certificate and copy despatch record.
"The car currently has a revised body and an earlier (8,500cc) engine than fitted originally."
