THRILL-seeking petrolheads looking for something outrageously fast should seek no further than the Engler Desat – described by its creator as “the world’s first super-quad”.
This bizarre quad bike features a full carbon fibre body and is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine taken from the Audi R8, making it capable of 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.
Unveiled in 2020 and built by the Slovakian company Engler Automotive, the Desat aims to combine hypercar performance with the thrill of a superbike.
However, this exclusivity comes at a price, with an estimated cost of around €1 million - roughly £830,000.
The prototype currently uses various Audi R8 parts, including the headlights and initial gear selector, while the handlebars come from a BMW Motorrad.
According to a review by Top Gear, despite the superquad’s unusual setup, the Desat is said to handle smoothly with intuitive controls.

Drivers should also be wary of its lack of ABS and traction control, while its tight turning circle can make navigating narrow streets a challenge, though it performs well on winding open roads.
Engler Automotive is aiming for more power, with the twin-turbo version, theoretically capable of 1,085 bhp, recently tested, while a V12 variant is in development - promising even more extreme performance.
Thankfully, the Desat probably won't be replacing conventional cars anytime soon, as Top Gear notes its tiny storage space - meaning it loses a lot of practicality.
But while it isn't the best-looking four-wheeled motor, it is surprisingly easier to operate than you might expect, considering it's a V10-engined quad bike.

Currently, the Engler Desat is not readily available at a showroom near you, and to get behind the handlebars of the limited-production model will likely require direct contact with Engler Automotive.
This comes just months after we reported on the Callum Skye - an all-terrain EV created by a former Jaguar designer that can be fast-charged in less than ten minutes.
The Skye, which looks like something from Mad Max, can go from zero to 62mph in just four seconds.
Prices start at around £80,000, and buyers can choose between a purely off-road motor or a road legal version which will certainly turn heads.
Elsewhere, a long-forgotten car brand is set to release a new EV that could be coming to the UK - a decade after they pulled all of their motors from showrooms.
