Star’s pimped-out Ford dubbed ‘Hoonitruck’ hits auction for eye-watering cost with racing tyres & ‘galaxy-sized’ turbos
RALLY driver Ken Block's pimped-out Ford truck is up for auction for a predicted eye-watering price.
The 1977 Ford F-150 Custom pickup was given a serious makeover by the Hoonigan team and since then it has conquered one the world's most dangerous roads.
Ken, who died when he was 55, competed in several 'Gymkhana' races in the truck which aired on YouTube.
The 'Hoonitruck' also drove up China's Tianmen Mountain - a terrifying route avoided by most petrolheads.
The reserve price hasn't been revealed yet, but two years before Ken's tragic death, the motor sold for a reported £879,000 ($1.1million) in 2021.
Before the Hoonigan team got their hands on the truck, it had a tired motor with a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 - similar to the one found in a second-generation Ford GT.

It was fitted with huge wheels for a modern all-wheel drive system, which allows the driver to drift and create a lot of noise.
The engine is partially exposed and there are two galaxy-sized turbos on display.
Ken appeared in two Top Gear episodes — one in 2009 and one in 2010.
In the first, which was filmed at California's Inyokern Airport, Block zoomed around the airfield alongside , aka "Captain Slow", in his Rally American Subaru Impreza.

After drifting around the runway and narrowly avoiding crashing into some parked planes, Block skilfully drifted the car through a pair of hangar doors twice and made doughnuts around a small signpost.
It is expected to be auctioned at a Barrett-Jackson event in coming weeks.
The rally legend's death was announced by Hoonigan Racing Division.
He died in a snowmobile accident near his ranch in Park City, Utah on January 2nd, 2023.
According to cops, he was riding the snowmobile down a steep slope when the vehicle upended and landed on top of him.
Although Ken was riding as part of a group, he was alone when the accident happened.
He is survived by his wife Lucy and 16-year-old daughter Lia, who is also a racing driver.
