Is this the worst paint job ever? Special edition hybrid gets the artist’s treatment – and it’ll give you a headache
Splashed with garish colours and shapes, the paint job on this £100,000 sports car is enough to make you feel physically ill
THIS may well be the worst paint job to ever grace a new vehicle.
An Italian car design studio is responsible for an artsy interpretation of the BMW i8 hybrid sports car, paying tribute to some of the bizarre colour schemes of 1980's home designer the Memphis Group - famous for their asymmetrical, geometrical and colourful works.
Garage Italia teamed up with BMW to decorate the £100,000 hybrid vehicle with an array of different colours and patterns, along with its i-series teammate, the electric i3.
First displayed at Salone del Mobile, an Italian furniture fair held in Milan, the vehicles are virtually impossible to miss.
And just like a viral pimple-popping video, they are so disgusting that you just can't look away.
A combination of zebra stripes and leopard print among various bright, garish colours, the cars look like they have been decorated with the skin of the entire cast of Madagascar.
Incredibly, the "Memphis Style Edition" is available for BMW i-series purchases on request - so we may actually see one of these out on the street in the near future.
Oh, the humanity.

Fine art is one thing, but this is nothing more than a way of ensuring that no one ever wants to purchase your £100,000 hybrid sports car again.
Let's leave cars to be cars, art to be art... and zebras to be zebras.
