I transformed mouldy old caravan on Facebook into my dream holiday home for just £500 using B&M and Poundland bargains
A COUPLE transformed a mouldy old caravan they bought on Facebook into a dream holiday home for £500.
Hayley Rubery and her partner Ben used B&M and Poundland bargains to transform the home on wheels.
After finding a 1989 Royce van riddled with damp on Facebook Marketplace, Hayley bagged it to turn it into the perfect travel home.
The 34-year-old, based in Norfolk, spent months transforming the place and shared the journey via her TikTok channel.
Hayley, a content creator, said: "It needed some TLC but we saw the potential."
They fixed any broken elements, sanded and painted down what they could.

To decorate, they used repurposed furniture and bought second-hand goods to deck out their new pad.
Hayley said: "Who says you need a big budget to make big changes?
"We stretched every pound. It's amazing what you can do when you get creative," she added.
As well as bargain hunting in B&M, and Matalan, the crafty couple also used Facebook marketplace.
They spent a total of £499.27 on the revamp, bringing the total spend of the entire project to just under £1,000.
The kitchen features a modern backsplash, new sink and all of the essentials.
The main living area features trendy wooden panelling and sage green paint.
Their cosy double bed has been decorated with fairy lights.
The couple even spray-painted the exterior and have said their caravan is now a "dream getaway".
Hayley added: "Who says you need luxury to make memories?"
They are preparing for their first trip in the van, which they have called Joyce.
Hayley and Ben have caught the renovation bug and plan to transform a second four-berth caravan.
Caravan flipping has become a popular hobby for many families across the UK following a boom in motorhome sales during Covid.
Holly and James bought a 24-year-old caravan from Facebook Marketplace last year and have upgraded it using bargain buys - like Hayley and Ben.
The couple said: "We bought [the caravan] for £2,250 from a lovely family via Facebook Marketplace. They were sad to see it go but were upgrading to a newer model.
"They had looked after it so well and pretty much everything still worked so we were over the moon when we saw it!
"It was just what we were looking for."

But when the couple took a closer look at the fixtures and fittings, they soon realised it needed more than a hoover and a lick of paint.
So they went about ripping out old units, upgrading fixtures and adding a more homely touch with bargain accessories and decorations.
