Aston Martin unveils incredible convertible that can go at 202mph – and it comes with brand-new soft-top roof feature
ASTON Martin has turned up the heat in the sports car world with the launch of its latest jaw-dropping convertible.
Priced at £175,000, the Vantage Roadster features a unique soft-top roof mechanism that sets it apart from its rivals.
The two-seater Roadster is powered by a 665hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering a 0-60mph acceleration in just 3.5 seconds.
With a top speed of 202mph, it matches the performance of the coupe version while adding the freedom of open-top driving.
The standout feature is its roof, which Aston Martin claims is the fastest-operating fully automatic soft-top on the market.
It can be opened or closed in a record 6.8 seconds at speeds of up to 31mph and can even be operated remotely within a two-metre range.

The lightweight 'Z-fold' design not only enhances speed and functionality but also reduces weight, helping the Roadster retain its dynamic handling and balance.
“Vantage Roadster delivers a world-class roof-down driving experience like no other,” said Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin’s chief executive.
The Roadster builds on Aston Martin’s engineering pedigree, boasting a finely tuned 49:51 weight distribution for precision handling and a lightweight aluminium structure with composite body panels.
Its bespoke Michelin Sport S 5 AML tires, developed specifically for the model, provide exceptional grip in all conditions, while powerful carbon ceramic brakes ensure rapid deceleration.

Inside, the Roadster offers a luxurious cabin equipped with leather sports seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an 11-speaker audio system, with an option to upgrade to a bespoke Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
Drivers can also select from an array of customisation options, including carbon fibre performance seats and tailored trims, through the "Q by Aston Martin" programme.
Externally, customers can choose from new paint colours such as iridescent sapphire and bronze flare, as well as a selection of roof colours and bespoke finishes.
Continuing a tradition of open-top Vantage models dating back 75 years to the 1950 DB2, the new Roadster also marks the 20th anniversary of the modern V8 Vantage, which first debuted in 2005.
Delivering both performance and refinement, it embodies Aston Martin’s reputation for engineering excellence and luxurious craftsmanship.
The Roadster is designed to be as practical as it is exhilarating.
Despite its compact 200-litre boot, it is perfect for shorter trips, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a journey to the ski slopes.
Its aluminium rollover protection system also ensures safety for occupants in the event of an accident.
Aston Martin’s commitment to sustainability is less evident in the Roadster’s performance metrics, with a fuel economy of just 23mpg and CO2 emissions of 279g/km.
But the car focuses firmly on delivering a thrilling driving experience that prioritises performance over efficiency.
