THIS is the moment firefighters tackle a blaze engulfing a Mercedes parked on the street.

The grey vehicle was found completely covered in flames on the evening of January 18 on Skinner Street, Poole.

Emergency services were called at 10.11pm and the fire was fully extinguished at 10.37pm

In the clip, a firefighter using a breathing apparatus is seen moving around the blaze as thick grey smoke billowed from the wrecked motor.

Blue lights flash throughout the footage as emergency vehicles park up nearby.

The flames cover the entire vehicle, lighting up the dark street.

When the fire is finally doused with two hose reel jets, one of the two firefighters is spotted checking the inside of the vehicle, with one inspecting the front seat with a torch.

The individual filming the scene then pans across to show another two firefighters standing next to a fire engine, parked up near the blaze.

Neighbour Sean Napier told the : “I only came outside because I heard a car alarm going off.

"We live the closest to the car fire and I went outside when the fire had been going for a few minutes.

“I went downstairs and then people were already outside and asked them what happened, and they said they saw a guy in a balaclava with a baseball bat bash the window in.

The neighbour said he saw the flaming car once he headed out to the road.

He then spotted cops out on the street, something he said was unusual for Skinner street.

"The firefighters had to wrench the bonnet off to get water into the engine area," he added.

A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service said: "We were called at 10.11pm on Saturday 18 January with reports of a vehicle fire on Skinner Street, Poole. 

"One appliance from Poole was mobilised and on arrival found one car well alight.

"Two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and our stop was at 10.37pm."

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We received a report that at around 10.10pm on Saturday 18 January 2025 the windows of a vehicle in Skinner Street were smashed and it was reported that the car – a blue Mercedes – was on fire.

"The fire service attended and extinguished the fire.

"Enquiries into the matter are ongoing, no arrest have been made."
