Much-loved car garage to close in just WEEKS as owner admits ‘there’s nothing we can do’
A MUCH-LOVED garage is set to close in just weeks as the owner admits "there's nothing we can do".
Guildford Auto Servicing and Repairs Ltd is closing after two years in business.
The family company, nestled in the residential area of Ridgemount in Surrey is set to be replaced by flats.
The owner said: "They are building flats here so unfortunately we have to go.
"We are still here until the beginning of March. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do."
Planning permission for the development of 19 residential units was actually granted by Guildford Borough Council on the 25th March 2021.

Ridgemount Garage is set to be developed following the demolition of Guildford Auto Servicing and Repairs.
The site will take up around 0.45 acres.
Guildford Auto Servicing and Repairs have also taken to Facebook to flog any unwanted items.
The owner attached photos of the tools and equipment - all in "good condition, they added.
The caption read: "CAR GARAGE WORKSHOP CLOSING DOWN SALE.
"Lots of tools and equipment for sale. Not all for sale are shown in the pics."
The owner also added a list:

Customers have been advised to message the seller directly for costs, however, a price of £12,345 accompanies the post.
Just a month ago the repair shop was receiving gleaming Google Reviews.
"Excellent service! Quick turn around my car was in need of some urgent medical attention after breaking down these guys had me back on the road very promptly. Highly recommend", said one person.
"Great service by the team at Guildford autos, had my car fixed very quickly not cutting any corners on quality. Would highly recommend", said another.
Followed by a third person: "Highly recommended. Was in need of major bodywork after an unfortunate accident.
