Major car brand launches sale on MULTIPLE models with nearly £9,000 knocked off coupe SUV – but you’ll have to be quick

The smallest price is still a sizeable £5,100

PENNY-pinching drivers could save thousands on cars sold by Volkswagen - as the German marque has slashed the price of multiple EV models.

That includes nearly £9,000 cut from their ID.5 coupe-SUV - championed for its roomy interior and large boot.

2024 was a big year for VW, as they celebrated 50 years of the Golf – which we discussed at length with the Mk1 Golf Club – while it was announced in December that some 35,000 factory worker jobs were set to be cut.

But they're starting 2025 positively with a mass sale on electric motors, from the ID.3 hatchback to the modern classic ID. Buzz minibus.

The stylish ID.7 saloon and ID.7 Tourer estate can now be picked up with a £6,900 discount, while the ID.3 gets £6,550 chopped from its price tag.

What’s more, the ID. Buzz is now £5,500 cheaper and the ID.4 family SUV is now £5,100 less.

As mentioned, the ID.5 coupe-SUV gets the biggest discount, with £8,900 taken off.

According to , Volkswagen offers deposit contributions on their website for PCP finance plans with a 5.9% APR, or 4.9% for the ID. Buzz, until the end of March.

And at the end of a PCP agreement, you can either pay the final amount to own the car or return it and get a new model, or pay off the balance within 14 days of delivery, known as the 'cooling-off period', to avoid interest and get a discount.

In a review last year, Sun Motors described the ID.7 as a roomy, comfy and efficient EV with a kit list as long as your arm – with only the price letting it down.

Now, that metric is looking much better.

This comes as Britain's fastest-selling used cars in 2024 have been revealed, with one Mercedes model often snapped up after just 16 days on dealership forecourts.

Newly released data from Auto Trader found that both Mercedes and MG are big sellers on the second-hand car market, while EV sales are beginning to soar.

Top of the list was the Mercedes-Benz GLB Class, which took an average of just 16 days to sell last year.

The German marque also secured second place with its A-Class SUV, which takes 16 days and 12 hours on average to be sold.

Indeed, SUVs make up eight of the 10 fastest-selling vehicles, while the other two are hatchbacks.

Elsewhere, VW's global rivals Ford have closed over 50 retail sections of their dealerships across the UK in a huge shake-up to "better align with evolving needs".

The former number one carmaker in terms of sales has been around since the beginning of the last century and was one of the first brands to offer practical and affordable vehicles to customers.

They confirmed all but three of the UK dealerships have retained their authorised repairer status - meaning they've only lost their retail arms.
