M5 brought to a standstill by rush-hour crash ‘between lorry & van’ triggering huge tailbacks

THE M5 has been brought to a standstill by a rush-hour crash reportedly between a lorry and van.
Huge tailbacks have been reported in Gloucestershire between Junction 9 at Tewkesbury and Junction 10 Cheltenham in the southbound direction following the collision.
Inrix traffic monitor first reported the crash at 6.54am.
All three lane of the carriageway were initially closed, as recovery teams raced to the scene.
The lane closures have since been lifted - but queues are expected to last until later this morning.
Inrix said: "Southbound just after J9 Tewkesbury, traffic held due to a collision between a lorry and van. Road currently closed.

According to the site, disruption is expected to continue until around 9am.
