Never leave the comfort of your own sofa to buy a car again as Skoda launches virtual showroom
View your next car on your tablet or smartphone with the live showroom from Skoda that uses cameras and experts to guide you around your future purchase
HATE wandering aimlessly around an out-of-town car dealer filled with pushy salesmen? Now you don't even need to get out of your armchair to find your next motor.
Thanks to the live Skoda showroom you can be guided around the latest models by an expert without having to ever leave the house.
A purpose built studio has been kitted out with hi-tech static cameras as well as handheld devices to give you the full experience.
That means a salesman can walk and talk you around the exterior via the wall-mounted cameras before moving inside to show you close ups of the boot, seats or infotainment system.
Live video streaming is currently available for the Skoda Kodiaq and new Octavia, allowing prospective buyers to ask questions and enter any personal details via a text chat window.
The system is easily accessed by a button on the product homepage where customers can request an immediate callback or book a slot.
Virtual appointments can be made via laptops, smartphones or tablets and experts can help you build the car on the online configurator, too, before requesting finance quotes.
If you do want to visit a dealer for a test drive and then to confirm the purchase, this can be booked in from the studio, too.
Jonathan Harris, Skoda new retail concepts manager, said: "Customers are seeking convenience and excellent service when looking to make a car purchase.
"This is an important step for the brand and the future of automotive retail and how we interact with customers."
