Funky new Citroen C3 Aircross replaces Picasso as it goes from MPV to SUV
The Citroen C3 has ditched its boxy Picasso looks for a fresh new design that takes aim at the Nissan Juke in the competitive SUV market
THE new Citroen C3 Aircross has been unveiled confirming its transformation from boxy MPV into chunky SUV.
It's the latest in a line of French cars to follow this design route after the Peugeot 3008 and 5008.
The C3 Aircross is a replacement for the outdated C3 Picasso and will rival the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur when it goes on sale in November.
Prices haven't been confirmed yet but entry-level models are expected to start from just £15,000.
There are 90 different trim combinations and five interior colour choices with exotic names like Urban Red and Hype Colorado.
A large seven-inch touchscreen dominates the dash with chunky buttons below.
Despite shedding its MPV tag, practicality will still be a key selling point for the C3 Aircross.
Citroen claims it'll be the most spacious car in its class thanks to a rear bench that slides back and forth boosting load area from 410 litres to 520 litres.
With the seats folded, boot space rises to 1,289-litres - 100 litres more than the Juke.
Performance will come from a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The entry level is a PureTech 82 petrol followed by a PureTech 110.
A 128bhp version is also available while two diesels - the BlueHDi 100 and BlueHDi 120 - will also be on sale from launch.
Technology will be impressive too with a head-up display confirmed, Active City Brake and Park Assist.
Keyless-go and a reversing camera will also be options along with wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
