Red Bull Soapbox Race 2017: An Aston Martin go-kart, Donald Trump in a bathtub, and a miniature Spitfire go head-to-head in hilarious annual race at Ally Pally
Crazy homemade creations raced down the hill with fancy dress and near misses wowing 20,000 spectators
FEARLESS competitors hurtled down the Alexandra Palace hill in fancy dress in a bid to win the Red Bull Soapbox Race.
A packed 20,000-strong crowd watched on as themed karts used nothing but gravity to race down the hill.
Amateur drivers take their hand-built efforts down the hay-baled course hoping to log the fastest time of the day - and stay in one piece.
With paper thin tyres and outrageous unstable designs, the Red Bull Soapbox Race is as much about style and fun as it is about speed.
And with some daring jumps along the narrow track, getting to the bottom isn't always easy with many ending up wedged in a haybale.
Entrants this year included everything from Donald Trump in a bathtub to a Jurassic Park-themed motorbike via Toy Story, WW2 and Willy Wonka.
Aston Martin even entered with an official model fresh off their success at the slightly more serious but equally daring Le Mans 24 Hour Race.
The winner in the end was Team Brooklands Special with their vintage-themed racer flying down the hill in 35.39 seconds - just ahead of the Aston go-kart.
